Assembling the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters Dream Team

DOHA (Qatar) - Do the stat lines match the eye test ? We take a closer look at the top four players from the Doha Masters based on their player value per game ranking.

Reminder: Player value is measured by the following: Shooting-value + Blocked Shots + Key Assists + Buzzer Beaters – Turnovers + (Rebounds/2).

Zygimantas Skucas (Utena Uniclub) - 8.5 P-VAL per game

It was once again another strong showing for Utena Uniclub (LTU), who have now cemented themselves at the top of the 3x3 world. But this time, another player came to the rescue. For his first-ever appearance on the World Tour, Zygimantas Skucas, led the tournament in Player Value per game (8.5). He was lethal from the 2-point line, hitting 9 shots, including a staggering 60% of his attempts.

'The Lithuanian Rodman' led the field in Shooting Value and was Utena’s top scorer in 3 of their 4 games. The 28-year-old also led the event in shoes thrown and technical fouls.

Next, he heads to the World Tour Final for a chance at 3x3 glory.

Kareem Maddox (Princeton) - 8.2 P-VAL per game

In his first World Tour action of 2020, Kareem Maddox was once again a beast down low. In three games, the American led the tournament in dunks (4), blocked shots (4), and total rebounds (27). He had one of the best stat line in World Tour history, a near triple-double in 9 minutes with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 8 highlights.

Princeton would go on to lose in the quarter-final to Jeddah and will miss out on the World Tour Final, but we can’t wait to see Maddox and the gang in 2021.

Joshua Munzon (Manila Chooks TM) – 8.1 P-VAL per game

With the crowd behind him, Joshua Munzon put on a show in Doha. The Philippines’ number 1 player only appeared in 2 games but was still able to fill up the stat sheet. He led the tournament in points per game (8.5), knocking down (7) 2-pointers, and wowing us all with his through the legs assist.

Munzon is just getting started on the World Tour, and with more experience, Manila Chooks TM could be a 3x3 force very soon.

Stefan Stojacic (Liman) - 7.2 P-VAL per game

We can’t have a list of the most valuable players without Stefan Stojacic. ‘Mr. Robot’ was firing once again for Liman as they made their way to the Doha Masters final. He finished first in P-VAL (35.9) second in 2-pointers made (9) and third in key assists (7). We’ve come to expect this from one of the best players in 3x3, but it’ll never get old.

He leads Liman into the World Tour Final in Jeddah as the number one team with high expectations. As long as their sharpshooter continues to dish and swish, Liman has a great chance to win their first World Tour title.
