Novi Sad and Riga Ghetto headline star-studded 3x3 Belgrade Challenger

BELGRADE ( Serbia) -  Top seeds Novi Sad (SRB) and Riga Ghetto  (LAT) are the two main attractions of the 3x3 Belgrade Challenger on July 13-14, 2019.

The #1 team in the world and recent 3x3 World Tour Mexico City Masters winners Novi Sad are the team to beat at the Belgrade Challenger this weekend. Seeded in Pool A, they will have to deal with local favorites Belgrade and Utsunomiya, coming all the way from Japan with 2 Serbian players on their roster

The #3 team in the world Riga Ghetto will try to bounce back after a disappointing 6th place in Mexico. Their fellow countrymen from Ventspils Ghetto, and Nantes Aderim (FRA), who just finished second at the Ekaterinburg Challenger won't make thing easy for the Doha Masters winners.

Lausanne - 2nd at the Poitiers Challenger - and Amsterdam - 4th at the Mexico City Masters - will meet in Pool C. Zemun (SRB), Tbilisi Eagles (GEO) and Pale (BIH) will play for the last spot in the pool.

Last, but not least, Vrbas (SRB), Colorado City (USA) and Smed Palanka Armageddon (SRB) will compete for the last spot in Pool D, where Ljubljana and Kranj - both from Slovenia - await.

The winner in Belgrade takes home $15,000 USD and there is $32,000 overall in prize money - a significant increase from $20,000 in challengers last year.

The best two teams in the Serbian capital will qualify for the Prague Masters, that will take place on August 3-4. Novi Sad (SRB), Zemun (SRB), NY Harlem (USA), Piran (SLO), Liman (SRB), Belgrade (SRB) and Princeton (USA) have already booked their tickets to Prague earlier this season.
