Liman and Princeton dominate Day 1 of FIBA 3x3 World Tour Prague Masters 2019

PRAGUE (Czech Republic) - Princeton and Liman dominated the pool stage of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Prague Masters in the Czech Capital on August 3.

The American squad dominated pool play behind the strong play of Robbie Hummel who exploded for 11 points in the team’s opening 21-15 victory over Riga Ghetto in the TISSOT Fastest Game of the Day. The dominant scoring play of Hummel did not stop there following it up another 11 points performance against Vitez (22-14).

Hummel topped the scoring after Day One and Princeton grab top spot in the group and advance to take on local favourite in the Czech Republic Humpolec in the Quarter Final.

Team Liman made light work of NY Harlem (22-12) in their opening game of the tournament before grabbing another win against Belgrade (21-16). Liman’s offence was clicking throughout the day behind the World Tour’s leading scorer, Mihailo Vasic pouring in 15 points on Day One.

The #4 seed Piran fell to Zemun (13-15) as the Serbian team overpowered their opponents with the aggressive play from Nikola Vukovic’s 7 points, momentum that the team carried on to the final game of the night grabbing victory over The Hague and top spot in the group setting up a Quarter-Final match up with NY Harlem.

Novi Sad continued form with Dusan Bulut and Dejan Majstorovic leading the team to two from two on the opening day. Opening the main draw Novi Sad disposed of Humpolec (21-9) before an uncharacteristic low scoring grind-it-out affair against Ventspils Ghetto (13-10). The victory saw Novi Sad in a familiar top spot in the group and will place Riga Ghetto in the Quarter-Final.
