Liman win their first FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters of 2019 in Debrecen

DEBRECEN (Hungary) - Liman (SRB) won their first Masters of 2019 at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen Masters 2019 on August 27-28.

The number 3 team in the world had an amazing run on Day 2, beating the other 3 best teams in the FIBA 3x3 Team Ranking one after another. Riga Ghetto (LAT) were last on their list in a thrilling 21-18 final.

Maksim Kovacevic caught fire in the title game, scoring an incredible 12 points, including 5 shots from behind the arc. Liman won the final with just 3 players after Stefan Kojic got hurt in the semi-final. His team-high 28 points and heroics in the semi-finals still got him the MVP award.

It was fitting that Liman won the 6th Masters of their career in Debrecen, where they won the very first one in 2017.

After winning in Doha and Prague, Riga Ghetto  fell short this time in the final. The 25-year-old Karlis Lasmanis was outstanding: he topped all scorers with 48 points, the best scoring performance at the World Tour this season.

Lausanne Masters NY Harlem (USA) finished third and World Tour rookies Jeddah (KSA) went all the way from the qualifying draw to a 4th-place finish.

In the individual contests, Piotr Grabowski  (POL) dominated the Dunk Contest while Edmonton's Steve Sir took home another shoot-out contest.
