ULE 3x3 heating up heading into Stop 3

ST PETERSBURG (Russia) - After two star-studded stops in Russia, the ULE 3x3 returns this week, April 14-15 in the last event before the finals.

At Stop 2, Team NL, coming in hot after their Doha Masters win, took home the title behind an MVP performance from Jessey Voorn. The number 4 seeded team won 4 of their 5 games, including wins against Riga, and finally Novi Sad in a rematch of the Doha Masters 2021 final.

Heading into Stop 3, they welcome back Julian Jaring, the 5th ranked player in the Netherlands, to an already stacked team.

Still sitting atop of the ULE 3x3 rankings is Riga, the Stop 1 winners, and the number one team in the world. Nauris Miezis comes into the event as the number one ranked player in the world, a new title following the unfreezing of the rankings. His partner in crime, Karlis Lasmanis leads all scorers with 81 points, 12 more than the next highest scorer.

Coming into the event in third place is Tri Zvezdochki with 130 points. The surprise team of the year is matched up in Pool B with Riga and AS Monaco 3x3, a tough draw for any team.

We’ll also have our eyes peeled on Novi Sad, following their back-to-back finals appearances, first at the Doha Masters, then in St. Petersburg. Dusan Bulut has surely silenced the doubters the past few weeks, making prognosticators look as bad as his defenders.

One dark horse to keep tabs on is Team LT. Following two average performances, they get Aurelijus Pukelis back, the number one player in Lithuania, to help propel them deeper into bracket play.

Rounding out the field are the rest of the hometown teams, including Gagarin, Cop Moscow, and "Inanomo" (Moscow), ranked 5th, 6th, and 7th, respectively.

The winners of the United League Europe 3x3 will qualify for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. The Masters to which it will qualify will be announced at a later stage.

Make sure to tune in to all of the action, where it will be broadcast live on FIBA 3x3's YouTube Channel and Facebook page.
