Liman overcome 2020 heartbreak, win FIBA 3x3 World Tour Jeddah Final 2021

Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) - Liman (SRB) won their first-ever World Tour title on the competition's 10th edition in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on December 17-18, 2021.

Just one year after losing the World Tour Final title game on a shocking Tissot buzzer beater and following an injury-riddled season without a single Masters title (for the first time since 2017), the number 3 team in the world had a perfect 5-0 record in Jeddah.

Sharpshooter Stefan Kojic rose to the occasion in the final against Gagarin (RUS) (21-14) with a game-high 11 points. His teammate, Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist, Mihailo Vasic was named MVP after leading the event in player value and finishing second overall in scoring.

The Tokyo 2020 silver medalist Stanislav Sharov had a team-high 9 points for Gagarin, who had the biggest upset of the tournament when they beat the defending champs Riga (LAT) in the quarter finals.

Liman received their award from Saudi Arabia Sport Vice Minister Bader Alkadhi and FIBA President Hamane Niang.

In the individual contests, Piotr 'Grabo' Grabowski (Poland) won the Quality of Life Dunk Contest, and received the award from Saudi Basketball Federation President Dr. Ghassan Tashkandi. The Olympic champion Edgars Krumins (Riga, LAT)  dominated the KAEC shoot-out contest and was awarded his trophy by King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) Head of Events Bilal Saudi.

All the health and safety measures requested by local and national authorities and the Guidelines for the Return to Basketball, developed by the FIBA Medical Advisory Group (MAG), which were successfully introduced last season, were implemented once again.
