Top players to watch at FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters 2023

AMSTERDAM (Netherlands) - For the World Tour's historic 100th event, the world's best players will be extra amped up for the first-ever FIFA 3x3 Amsterdam Masters on October 6-7.

Let's look at the players you just have to watch. 

Worthy de Jong (Amsterdam HiPRO)

All eyes in Amsterdam will be focused on their Dutch hero - Worthy de Jong, who will no doubt be getting his fans jumping out of their seats with his crazy athletic feats. 

The Dutch hoops legend is averaging an insane 9.3 ppg, but is still waiting to taste his first World Tour title success. What better way to break that drought than at home? 

It might just be destiny for de Jong if he can do that, but regardless we do know that this dunking machine will be putting on a show every time he steps on the half-court.

 

Strahinja Stojacic (Ub Huishan NE)

After Ub were unbeatable early in the season, things have been tougher recently as the field has seemingly caught up to their incredibly high standards.

But top-ranked Strahinja Stojacic is still making it look easy with the half-court his personal multiverse.

The man they call 'Doctor Strange' will be on a mission to end Ub's two-month title drought on the World Tour.

Be warned, Strahinja Stojacic usually gets what he wants. 

 

Quincy Diggs (Vienna)

The Austrians were so close to their first title of 2023 after agonizingly falling short in Cebu. 

They'll have revenge on their minds as they turn to walking bucket Quincy Diggs to ignite their charge in Amsterdam. 

The American can score from anywhere on the half-court and is an absolute force on the boards, so expect him to once again stuff the box score. 

Dennis Donkor (Antwerp TOPdesk)

This brilliant Belgian might just be the perfect teammate. He can score buckets when needed, but doesn't need the Wilson to make an impact.

He's arguably the best defender on the pro circuit, willing to lock down the star player on the other team. 

Donkor puts everything on the line and that should inspire Antwerp TOPdesk to great heights in Amsterdam.

Jimmer Fredette (Miami)

Add Masters MVP to the long line of accomplishments for this former NBA player and collegiate legend. 

Fredette brought 'Jimmer Mania' to Cebu as he shot the lights out to finish with 44 points, including an insane 50% from 2. 

This Miami sniper has shown in his debut season that he's 'Jimmer Buckets' on the half-court.

If he splashes in Amsterdam, possibly causing those famous canals to overfill, then Miami might just go back-to-back on the World Tour. 

 

Karlis Lasmanis (Beijing)

'Flight KLM' has landed in Amsterdam and he's ready to deliver a historic title for Beijing. 

Lasmanis has been better than ever and averaged 7.8 ppg on the World Tour, but it has not led to the ultimate success with his new team. 

Putting on his famous cape, turning on the bat signal, 'Batman' is ready for a superhero performance.

Considering he's one of 3x3's greatest players, it would be fitting if Karlis Lasmanis can create history for Beijing in this momentous event. 

Marko Stevanovic (Partizan)

Partizan have gone up a level and the attention has been focused on the Stefans - Milivojevic and Torbica who have been in scoring binge mode. 

But the man in the middle - Stevanovic - can't be overlooked because his presence intimidates opponents. 

The 6ft. 8in (2.03m) monster loves stuffing the stats sheet and throwing down brutal dunks.

With 35 dunks on the pro circuit, only de Jong has more than Stevanovic who is looking to make the paint in Amsterdam his personal playground. 

 

Franck Seguela (Paris)

Paris are out to rebound after a Day One exit in Cebu, but their main man Franck Seguela did all he could in a one-man show. 

Some wondered if the French magician could translate his dazzling pro circuit to the World Tour, but he's done exactly that by pouring in 43 points in his last 5 games. 

His next step will be leading Paris to a maiden Masters triumph and if he does that then Franck Seguela surely will be returning home with the MVP.

Leon Fertig (Dusseldorf LFDY)

The insanely talented 22-year-old is fresh off Germany's bronze medal run at the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup 2023, where he was absolutely electric with 49 points to finish on the Team of the Tournament.

Fertig is ready to now shine on the World Tour and if gets his radar on target then Amsterdam might just be his breakout on the big stage.
