Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy and Liman Huishan NE renew rivalry at FIBA 3x3 Chengdu Masters 2023

CHENGDU (China) - After a final for the ages at the Shanghai Masters, Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL) and Liman Huishan NE (SRB) will resume hostilities at the FIBA 3x3 Chengdu Masters

After an incredible first-ever stop in Shanghai, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour continues its swing in China by journeying to Chengdu - a  popular 3x3 destination.

Liman Huishan NE will be out to exact revenge after their heartbreak to Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy, who created history by becoming the first team from 3x3 obsessed country Mongolia to win a title on the World Tour.

They meet in a blockbuster in Pool C, which also has Utrecht (NED) who can't be underestimated with young gun Nesta Agasi ready to dominate on the big stage.

Top seeds Ub Huishan NE (SRB) are back on the World Tour after missing Shanghai and they'll face a challenge against Lausanne Sport LS (SUI), who have been in hot form recently.

Scoring machines Strahinja Stojacic and Carlos Martinez will do battle, but this group isn't just a two-horse race.

Sansar MMC Energy (MGL) might just be feeling inspired after the deeds of Ulaanbaatar and their hopes of a deep run rests with Anand Ariunbold aka 'The Archer' firing from all angles.

That is a loaded group, but the 'Group of Death' just has to be Pool B which features second seeds Vienna (AUT), red-hot San Juan (PUR) and rising Omaha (USA).

After their memorable triumph in Amsterdam, Vienna crashed back to earth with a shock quarter-final exit in Shanghai. They'll be out to rebound and to do that they'll need Quincy Diggs to return to his MVP form.

Diggs will likely be engaged in a shootout contest with Antonio Ralat, who can make Chengdu freeze because he is ice cold. Ralat has superbly led San Juan, who recently won the Colorado Challenger.

Omaha (USA) have their own Ice Man with new sensation James Parrott dripping wet every time he steps on the half-court.

The blockbusters keep on coming with Pool D headlined by a compelling clash between Beijing (CHN) and Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU).

Buckle up because Flight KLM is arriving in Chengdu as Karlis Lasmanis prepares for an in-game dunk contest with Lithuanian high-flyer Modestas Kumpys, who is about to activate 'Flight Mode'.

The third team in Pool D will come from the three-team qualifying draw with Saitama ALPHAS EXE (JPN) deemed the frontrunner.
